The event has grown into one of the largest and most exciting road races in the United Kingdom, promising to deliver the full works for the half marathon. It is now one of Europe’s largest half marathons and is Wales’ largest mass participation and multi-charity fundraising event. The event has grown significantly since it was founded by Barnardo’s in 2003 when 1,500 runners took part. It now attracts a mass race field of over 27,500 registered runners alongside world-class athletes in a trio of fiercely contested men’s, women’s and wheelchair elite races. It hosts the Welsh Half Marathon Championships annually and has hosted the World (2016) and Commonwealth (2018) Half Marathon Championships. The race is a member of the SuperHalfs, a global series of the world’s most prestigious half marathons including races in Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia. https://www.cardiffhalfmarathon.co.uk

One of the most stunning marathons in the world. With spectacular scenery, fantastic atmosphere and a truly memorable experience – it’s no wonder it was voted in the top 10 UK marathons by Runner’s World readers in 2016 and is on the bucket list for many runners from around the world. “Breathtakingly beautiful”, “friendly atmosphere”, “flawless organisation”, “felt like a festival not just a race” are just some of the comments we had from our runners in 2016 so why not come and experience it for yourself? The Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular point-to-point route alongside world famous Loch Ness, starting in an atmospheric moorland setting and continues through stunning Highland scenery, taking you along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness, to finish in Inverness, capital city of the Highlands. Why not make a Highland weekend of it and come with family or friends?  There’s plenty to entertain runners and spectators over the weekend with a free Sports Expo, Baxters Food & Drink Fayre, live music, kids’ activities and a Wee Nessie for under-5s. https://www.lochnessmarathon.com/event/loch-ness-marathon/

If you are looking for a marathon which is off road, picturesque and challenging then running the Clarendon is the ultimate. Our route takes you from Salisbury to Winchester along the ancient Clarendon Way with a few extra turns here and there to make up a full 26.2 miles. More than 90% is off road, with the trail following country tracks and paths – many of which have not changed since being travelled by the ancient Kings and Queens of England. In addition to the full marathon distance (26 miles), we also have a half marathon event (13 miles) and a mini (last 5 miles).  If you want to join us but are not able to run the full course, please feel welcome to get a team of 4 together and run in a relay or enter the mini and join us for the last 5 miles.  For spectators with children, we will also have a kiddie’s race around the grounds of Kings School. Our marathon event was first run in 1998. It was founded and organised by Paul Elderkin, a keen runner and member of a local Hash House Harriers Club. In 2012, Paul passed the management of the race […]

A firm fixture in the running calendar, the Eden Project Marathon and Half Marathon offers hilly multi-terrain courses around the famous site, following a challenging route through areas of spectacular mining heritage and beautiful countryside landscapes. Cornwall’s biggest running event returns on Sunday 11 October 2020, with a multi-terrain route through spectacular countryside. We created the course through Cornwall’s dramatic Clay Country not only to offer a unique sporting experience for runners nationwide, but to showcase the unique region on our doorstep. The idea came from a conversation with the local St Austell Running Club, whose commitment, enthusiasm and passion have been invaluable in putting on the event. The Marathon is just one of the many ways Eden aims to act as a catalyst for economic growth in the local region. If we could build this place, in a former clay pit, surely together we can all take on even bigger challenges… https://www.edenproject.com/visit/whats-on/eden-marathon-half-marathon?RL=1
