In the year 2015, Ultra Fiord® was the first trail-running event with a distance of 100-Miles in Southern Patagonia, Chile. During its short history, the event has brought together runners from more than 30 countries, all of whom has traveled to the Patagonia’s extreme south to fulfill this dream of running in one of the planet’s most pristine places. A few notable runners that have passed through these Ultra Fiord territories are Jeff Browning (USA), Xavier Thevenard (France), Benoit Girondel (France), Philipp Reiter (Germany), Kirssy Moehl (USA), Ragna Debats (Netherlands), Nikki Kimball (USA), Pere Aurell (Spain), Genís Zapater (Spain), Fernando Nazário (Brazil), Manu Vilaseca (Brazil) and Piotr Hercog (Poland), among others. Ultra Fiord is a unique and unforgettable experience, but at the moment of deciding whether to participate, it is very important to consider that this event has been designed for mountain runners with experience. The race routes penetrate mountainous areas that are both in the wild and without vehicle access. In addition, the climate is restless, and can even sometimes become hostile. Therefore, before making the decision to register, we invite you to review all of the available information on our website and even invite you to write us […]

The Beppu-Ōita Marathon (別府大分マラソン Beppu Ōita Marason?) is an annual men’s marathon race that takes place every February between the cities of Beppu and Ōita on the island of Kyushu in Japan. First held in 1952 as a 35 km race, the looped marathon course begins at the bottom of Takasaki Mountain and reaches Beppu’s Kankoko International Port before turning back towards the finishing point in the Ōita Municipal Athletic Stadium. The race has IAAF Silver Label Road Race status. The event is sponsored by the The Mainichi Newspapers Co. and is formally known as the Beppu-Ōita Mainichi Marathon. The marathon race attracts approximately 500 entrants each year, of whom around two-thirds finish the course. The large majority of the runners are Japanese, or Japanese-based. A small number of international athletes are invited to compete each year, although other foreign athletes also appear in the race for pace setting purposes. An additional road race, the Beppu-Oita Mainichi Half Marathon, was held in conjunction with the main race between 1976 and 2001.

In 2018, the Ile-Ife Heritage Marathon was founded with the hope of building an event for the entire ancient city of Ile-Ife. For the past 5 years, runners, volunteers, spectators and community members have shown up on the streets of Ile-Ife to support one another and to turn an individual sport into a collective experience. We hope to once again line 42.195km of our streets for the Sixth Edition on February 4, of 2024. The satisfaction of everyone participating in and supporting the event remain our highest priority. In response to the general clamour for shorter distances to encourage inclusiveness, the event organizers have come to a decision to include the 21.1 km, 10km and 5km distances to our event. On a personal note to the runners who have kept our race going for the past five years, we want to thank you for all the kilometres, for your loyalty and for your spirit. The Ile-Ife Heritage Marathon has always been your race and with your continued commitment to the sport, we will continue to be of service to our worldwide community. We are returning to the streets of Ile-Ife with a big bang after our one year break to restrategize. Our return will still be a celebratory […]
