The GMS Queen City Marathon has grown from its humble beginnings, in 2001, to become the largest road race in Saskatchewan today. With three days of races and over 6000 participants this has truly become a must attend event for runners and walkers alike. The GMS Queen City Marathon includes a race for every pace with a marathon, half marathon, 10K, two 5K’s and a kid’s mini marathon spread throughout the second weekend in September. Farnham Pilgrim Marathon ( or Half Marathon) has been described as possibly one of the prettiest trail Events in the UK. It is set to be one of the “must-do” events of the year again! The route is equally challenging but rewarding after all it is the Surrey Hills! The Farnham Pilgrim was awarded a trophy for the “Best New Event” after its inaugural running in 2010. Since that date it has been consistently highly-rated by participants. This is no ordinary Trail marathon, Its more of a Pilgrimage taking the Pilgrims way and North downs Way, passing 5 churches, an abbey, 2 Manor houses, ponds, rivers, old mills, Vineyards, even Llamas on the Marathon course! with stunning scenery. The race starts on Main Street. From there runners bear right along cobbles and through Sun Street towards Penistone Hill. After a brief uphill section, they pass the cricket ground and along Lee Lane to the nearby reservoir. The next four miles is on tarmac, over a stream and across an open moor to Withens Pub. The route continues across countryside, passing near Gatehouse and via Houghgate and Brookhouse reaching the halfway mark at the junction with the A629. The inward half starts along a footpath to Denholme Beck. Under a railway bridge to a reservoir, through allotments and over a viaduct, the route carries on through forest and across moorland to Hainworth Village. From there, runners pass along Black Moor Road, the nearby farmhouse and onto Penistone Hill. Then the last 1.2 miles onto the finish line. The Yorkshireman

City-Bay Fun Run Committee Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation. Our prime objective is to raise funds to support Athletics in South Australia and our efforts therefore assist athletes and clubs within the athletics community in South Australia. Local Service Clubs, as well as the Athletic community are supported with a donation based on the amount of volunteer help they provide both on race day and for pre-race administration. Race Events

From the cannon used as a “starter’s pistol” to the “dog-tag” medals soldiers place around all participants necks at the finish line, this unique event is “military” from start to finish. More than anything, though, Canada Army Run, is about Canadians and the Canadian Armed Forces – Air Force, Army, and Navy – joining together in the spirit of camaraderie and community. A Local Marathon running event taking place in Rutland since 2016. The Rutland Marathon is a family organised event at one of the most beautiful venues in the country. The race takes place around the shores of one of Europe’s biggest man made reservoirs. The route includes tarmac, gravel and dirt tracks and includes most the circumference of the lake including the peninsula. The route passes meters from the waters edge and weaves through some of the country’s most precious wetland habitats. You may be lucky enough to get a glimpse of a mighty osprey, even if you don’t you will still encounter some of the best views this picturesque county has to offer. Amenities and facilities are dotted around the route with established tourist spots including car parks, toilets and cafes. The Surrey Hills Challenge charity event is one of the biggest sporting challenges in Surrey and returns for 2020. One day, six walking or running events, with six distances for people of all ages and fitness. The Ultra, a 60k run covering all terrains, the ultimate challenge; The Full, a 42k run or walk in the hills; The Half,a 21k walk or run over Leith Hil ; The Ten, a fast and furious 10k; The Five, a family challenge 5k, and a 1k kids’ fun run. The race starts and finishes in the shadow of Windsor Castle within Windsor Great Park, which is the only Royal Park managed by The Crown Estate. The Great Park was once part of a vast Norman hunting forest which was enclosed in the late thirteenth century. The antiquity of the landscape is enhanced by the scattering of great ancient oaks for which the Great Park and its forest are renowned.
