Take on the challenge of The J’s Chelmsford Marathon. A 26.2 mile single lap course on road and tarmac paths finishing in Central Park. The marathon follows a scenic rural route which heads out through the city and then undulates through the nearby countryside and pretty villages of north Essex. Perfect for both first time or experienced marathon runners. The J’s Hospice Chelmsford Marathon aims to raise funds for young adult hospice care. The communities of Chelmsford and the surrounding villages come out in their thousands to cheer and support the runners, raising money for The J’s Hospice. The Marathon is organised by The J’s Hospice and all race proceeds go to The J’s Hospice and runners are urged to raise sponsorship. A beautiful, challenging marathon course set in England’s most spectacular mountain scenery. The Langdale Marathon has a reputation as the toughest road marathon in the UK. Taking in two laps of the Half Marathon course and reaching gradients of 1:3, this stunning marathon attracts both seasoned runners and a large number people looking for their next challenge. Hosted in the heart of the Lake District the runners follow an anti-clockwise course from Great Langdale to Little Langdale and on to the picturesque hamlets of Skelwith Bridge and Chapel Stile. Climbing up to Blea Tarn (twice!) and Foulstep (twice!) the course is recognised as the toughest road marathon in UK. Voted one of the most scenic courses with every race distance following the Niagara River and ending at the majestic Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side of the border. The Marathon is truly international with the start in Buffalo, NY. The Half, 10k and 5k distances all start and end in Canada. As you line up on Lincoln Parkway in Buffalo for the start of the Niagara Falls International Marathon, you will find yourself in a most historic and beautiful area. Originally called North Park, it is now known as Delaware Park. Opened in 1870, this beautiful green area was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who also designed New York City’s Central Park and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Lincoln Parkway is only a small part of the park that includes the Buffalo Zoo, Baseball Diamonds, Soccer Fields, Running Track, Picnic Areas and a Golf Course (formerly known as the Sheep Meadow in the 1880’s where flocks of sheep grassed). The ASB Auckland Marathon on Sunday, 1 November 2020 is an annual Festival of Events with a range of distances so everyone can participate – including the ASB Marathon, Half Marathon, 11K Traverse, Heart Foundation 5K Challenge and the Kids Marathon. The Full and Half Marathon events start in Devonport and have run over Auckland’s Harbour Bridge since 2000, finishing at Victoria Park near the CBD. The “Party in the Park” after function has a corporate marquee village and other fun and entertainment. The Marathon, Half Marathon and 12k Traverse go over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, and the marathon and half marathon courses have been IAAF and AIMS Certified since 2006. The Wheelchair Marathon returns for a second year in 2019, but you must apply online and be accepted to race. The New York City Marathon is the largest in the world. The course provides a tour of all five boroughs, from the start on Staten Island to the finish in Manhattan’s Central Park—that is, if you can get in.
